Welcome To David Allsop Classics

Welcome Everyone to my Blog,

I am collating here all of my ideas and thoughts on my study of Classics and the Ancient World. I hope you find my observations and work of interest.

The links above will take you to the various areas of my site. The latest posts appear on the Home Page, if you have a specific area of interest you can check out posts under the ‘Categories’ tab.

I completed studying for my MA Ancient History and Classical Studies with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2016. Life is all about learning and I have recently started studying beginners Latin. I really enjoy the work I do, however, my passion has always been the study of classics and I hope to teach the subject one day. I had originally wanted to undertake a PhD once I finished my MA but that will have to wait a few years.

In order to progress my ambition to teach I wanted to start writing articles for Classical Journals but unfortunately most contributors are already working in the field and so it is unlikely I would have any success. I started this blog to publish short ideas and views from what I read during my studies. I unfortunately cannot add a post everyday but am going to try to do so more regularly. I will continue to publish articles and essays that I have written, including my dissertation, even though my studies have finished. Please take the opportunity to have a look at my blog. I hope that you find what I write interesting and feel free to comment on what I have said.

If there is anything you would like me to write a post on then let me know via a comment, twitter or e mail

Between posts, you can keep up to date with my latest short observations or general day-to-day life by following me on Twitter @da11sop.

All the best

As always, the weekend was pleasant but far too short for my liking. Monday mornings have the nasty habit of sneaking up on you…

All the best for the week ahead,
