Classics Resource of the Week – Diotima

October 29, 2013

This weeks Classics resource is Diotima.

I came across Diotima whilst preparing to study Women in Ancient Myth a Society. During my recent studies a number of the recommended readings have linked through to sources provided by the site; Semonides Women for example. Therefore, I thought it fitting that Diotima is this weeks resource.

The site provides a central resource for information on gender and sexuality; including course material, bibliographies, links to sources, essays, readings and images. The site is continually under development and should be visited regularly.

For the study of women in ancient myth and society this is definitely an excellent starting point.
