Medicina Antiqua

July 23, 2013

This weeks Classics resource is Medicina Antiqua.

The site was originally set up by Dr Lee Pearcy but has since moved to the University College London and is now maintained by Jason Davies.

The content of the site focuses on short up to date essays on the topic of Graeco-Roman medicine, links to other Classical Medical Resources and medical text translations.

The site is a useful introduction to the study of ancient medicine and is continually expanded upon. Medicina Antiqua is also affiliated with The Society for Ancient Medicine a group that promote and encourage the study of ancient medical practice.

I found this site a particularly good starting resource during my recent study of Ancient Medicine.
