Classics Resource of the week – The Ancient City of Athens

June 25, 2013

This weeks Classics resource is The Ancient City of Athens.

Published by The Stoa The Ancient City of Athens is a useful repository of photos of the ancient monuments of the city. There are vast catalogues that focus on the Acropolis, Agora, Arch of Hadrian, Olympieion, Roman Agora and many more sites. Furthermore under each section of the site select bibliographies and details of other useful websites are provided to assist in further research.

I would highly recommend this as a key resource for the start of any research that focuses on the architecture of classical Athens (the photos are also excellent and bring back many happy memories of my visits to Athens). I hope you find the site as interesting and useful as I have.
